DIPG Cycle Day – Bristol to Bath – Saturday 2nd of July

1Take the train to Bristol then enjoy a relaxing and safe 75 minute flat and traffic free ride on one of Britain’s most picturesque cycle routes. The route starts from Temple Meads and guides you along a converted rail line on a perfect cinder track through woodland, open countryside and into beautiful Bath city centre. Once in Bath we will enjoy a fine lunch at the Firehouse bistro. This perfect little secret is renowned for its pizzas and steaks.

After having wined and dined we have a short freewheel down to Bath Thermae. This modern bath and spa complex has steam rooms and a stunning roof top pool to soak away any stiffness from the morning.

2Those who don’t fancy Bath Thermae may prefer to sight see, shop or take the tour around the Roman Baths. Why not make a weekend of it and stay in one of Bath’s many charming guest houses. Please book on to the 09.03 a.m. direct train service from Newton Abbot which gets us to Temple Meads at 10.25 a.m. This is a short journey and means there is no fighting traffic or parking and we can have drinks with lunch. Please travel in your cycle gear so we are ready to go straight from the train. Bring a back pack with change of clothes and swimmers (towels are supplied at Thermae). It is a short freewheel back to Bath station to catch a train back to Temple Meads and the main line home. Those bringing their own bikes need to book them on the trains as they only take 3 on any service. Those who wish to rent may do so from the Cycle Shack on 0117 955 1017. Those hiring will need to catch the 16.29 hrs train to return your bikes by 17.00 hrs. Let me know if you are coming, give me your mobile number and your means of travel, Neil Harris 07814 726082/ Neil.harris19@gmail.com
